Default Looking for a few [good] parts...

Hi folks.

An acquaintance, in the DC-metro, of a recently-acquired 951 would be very happy to compensate someone for the following items:

- undamaged j-boot [update: no longer needed]
- black dash mat [update: no longer needed]
- interior dash trim panels [update: no longer needed]
- cowl trim panel, over wiper motor and hvac blower [update: no longer needed]
- front seats, material unspecified, black or linen/light grey [update: no longer needed]

Local [DC-metro] parts preferred, but not required.

Update: Life events [house, family] have put this project on the back-burner. Thanks, again, for everyone's input. Will provide additional status update, here, should things on his end change.

In addition, I would consider the following items [condition 8/10 or better]:

- center console, black [update: sourced]
- front carpet driver/passenger [update: sourced]
- door cards, standard or 10-speaker, black
- hatch carpet, black
- hatch carpet, side trim, black

Local [DC or Tampa] parts preferred, but not required. As items are sourced, I'll edit this original post. Thanks.

Update: Have sourced a few items.

Default Linen seats

PM sent.

The plastic cover over the motor assembly is sitting loose in the drivers photo, it will tuck up under the seat just like the passenger seat shows.

The HVAC cover can still be bought new. It's ~$70 IIRC.

I might have a cowl trim panel in my garage. I will check when I get home.

Ken/Mike, thanks for your responses. PMs returned.

Darwin, thanks for that tidbit.

Thanks, Sterling.

Doug, PM sent.

Kona, thanks for the heads up. Unless that '83 has a turbo j-boot installed, we'd have to McGyver something to make it work.

No luck on the cowl panel. Might have thrown it out thinking I wouldn't need it. Sorry.

I have a center console in good shape and the cassette lid with a crack or two, but I'm on the wrong coast. $15 for the cassette lid, $35 for the center console (and $15 each for headlight assemblies from an early car in less than pristine condition)

Thanks, Sterling...no worries.

William, is your center console/lid from an early or late car? I'm sure there are folks on the west coast that would gladly take those off your hands.

Sitrep: as it appears my friend is out of town this week, I'm still waiting to hear in which direction he plans to go. As soon as I'm able to solicit some feedback, I'll close the loop here [in my initial post].

I on the other hand, pending Doug's schedule, hope to make a road trip down to Prince Frederick sometime in the next few weeks and see how many items I can knock off my list in one fell swoop. Again, will come back here to close the loop with all involved.

Thanks for everyone's assistance.

I've updated my initial post with acquired items.

It appears that life events [house, family], as they often do, have found a way to de-rail my friends project. As such, the items he was looking for have [temporarily] been put on the back burner. Thanks to everyone for their offers/contributions.

I, on the other hand, had a more productive weekend, and ended up taking a road trip to Prince Frederick to meet up with Doug [Dougs951]. Over the years, he's somehow stashed away "one or two" spares [of everything] in his "warehouse" and I was happy to take a few things off his hands. Thanks Doug!

While were talking shop standing over Doug's modified S2, Mark [Mark Hubley] stopped by to see if one of Doug's spares [aftermarket poly front dam/spoiler] would happen to fit the newly acquired thoroughbred in his stable...a black/black [with hard-back sport seats] 996. Nice. As you can imagine, a few tires were kicked...
