Default Talk to me about fuel rails!!! URGENT!

All,

I'm at the VIR and my 951's fuel rail is leaking!

Sasco is currently trying to repair it. If they are unable to get it fixed, what are my options? I see Lindsey has a billet rail which is relatively inexpensive, but the complete kit is $600. Is this my best option for a track car?

Or should I just find a used fuel rail?

You're lucky you caught it in time. Good luck finding a replacement quickly.

I don't know too much about 951s and their engine setup, but I have a '86 (I believe) 944 n/a spare if you need it?

I have the rail from an 87 S sitting here if you need it, but not too close to you

Make it a point to get rid of the stock fuel rail soon. They've started many, many fires, and they've burned too many cars to the ground. They're old; will all leak eventually, and with 3 bar of pressure, fuel can spray everywhere. You're fortunate to have caught the one you have. Good going.

Thanks, all!

There was a happy ending... Sasco was able to weld around one of the two main brackets (U-shaped cross section) and fix the leak. I was able to get back on track by 1 PM on day 1, and didn't miss a thing on day 2.

I dropped 3 seconds on day 1 from my previous best, and another half second on day 2. So I'm now down to a 2:13.1!

And I will definitely get a couple of replacement fuel rails. Thanks!!!

What do you think of the track with the new pavement?

I like what they've done! It seems smoother, safer, faster, and racier all at the same time. I will miss the Oak Tree at the start/finish line, but I understand why they did it. I like the fact that exiting both 3 and Oak Tree, you have the option to cross the rumble strip, although that may or may not be faster.

Here is video:

Get a CEP fuel rail and you're sorted. They are a work of art
