the clutch? wow! the exhaust doesnt suprise me. our whole exhausts get so hot they burn out all the moisture. my bet is the more you use it the longer it would last, due to the lack of latent moisture in the metal. when y'all get to testing let us hear the differences

An S feels just like an NA below 4k rpms..after that its got a little more punch to it but you have to be on it pretty good to feel it. The S2 definately feels a lot different..much more torquey and more useable power across the board due to the larger displacement and I think some more aggressive cams. Some say the S actually feels slower than an NA on the bottom but I didn't really notice any of that..it seemed about the same, but I've only driven one.

The S is still a great car though if you like the feel of the NA with a little extra grunt on top. On the track I'd imagine the S would be feel pretty good because you'd always be in the extra power zone.

S2 is definately faster. That said, I still think the S is a good track car as well. Just depends on what you like.

Don't know about that (never driven an S), but definately were slower than the pack of turbo's that I ran with @ 944Fest (wink to Jerad and Dan)

Boy that was a good time!!!

You people and your modded turbos...Try goin stock against an S2..at least we don't need to jam extra air in there to make 210 hp! It's possible to argue the turbo vs S2 speed thing stock..so much as a chip in the turbo and it all becomes irrelevant. Turbos are the fastest 944s..everybody knows that!

What I really need is a turbo on my S2. What did Anderson do? 295 on the tires at 6 psi on an otherwise stock S2 motor? That's enough to show most 951s without thousands in them some tail lights Not to mention the priceless looks I'd get blowing by them on the STRAIGHTS at the track for once...It will be done!

Good arguement, but to burst your bubble my car is bones stock (it is an '89/turbo S specifications). I can't say that for Dan's and Jerad's though... dbl wink/wink!!!

I never said anything about a turbo S/89 turbo. Those are damn fast cars right out of the box!
