How much fiberglass cloth is needed to wrap headers?

Van, are you not running a header heat shield as a result of wrapping them? I'll confess that removing them is a big reason why I want to wrap mine. I'm all about cleaning up/simplifying things under the hood and making the car easier/faster to work on. By the way is that a stahl header?

No heat shields. It's a one-off header, not Stahl.

This was about 1/2 to 2/3rd of a 2" x 50' roll. And don't bother w/ black on a turbo - exhaust gets hot enough that it burns the die out of the wrap, and now its the regular white/tan color....

Van, thats a really nice header! Thanks for all the input guys, I've got a dozen SS zip ties (6 8" long and 6 14" long) and 2 2" x 25' rolls of white wrap on the way. I'll be pulling the headers next weekend to replace the gaskets and while I'm at it I'll wrap em up snug.

Most people that build headers will tell you to wrap them. It guarantees repeat customers.
