Pete's new S2
I just spoke to Pete briefly, he picked up my old (his new) 89 S2 at the Denver airport yesterday. He's in Indianapolis now and making good time, no problems. I don't expect him to have any trouble with the car but you never know.
I passed the car on to Pete, took the bus into town and met up with some friends. Funny thing, I realized halfway through my happy hour beer and nachos that I was in the same bar I came to after looking at and buying the car I'd just sold. The PO lived right next door to the Bull and Bush in Cherry Creek (Denver.) I don't get there very often (I live in Boulder) but it's a great place.
Anyway I wish Pete good luck, even if he's going to use those beautiful Design 90's as winter wheels. Ah well, at least he's not putting a biplane wing and neon accents on it.
-Joel.

Nope. I already changed my .sig to reflect the current fleet. I sold a Dove Blue (aka Baltic Blue) 89 S2 Coupe. The 928 takes over for it as my daily driver. It's more laid back. Quiet, less stiff-riding and twitchy, and an auto trans for traffic. Plus a little variety is always nice.

I also received a call from Pete- all was well as he crossed Illinois- We didnt get to meet as scheduled- but he wanted to get home. (I can appreciate that!)
I could hear the smile on his face as he said "I'm making great time!"
I bet Pete- best of luck buddy!

I'm back!
I pulled into my driveway at 6:58pm (Ohio time), The time zone thing was driving me nuts on the way back. No problems with the car at all. I only saw a few P-cars on the way but at the motel I stayed in in Salina, Kansas last night there was a Cayenne with California Plates.
I wish I could have spent more time with Joel but I had a long drive ahead of me. I need to clean the car up before my wife gets home Sunday.
I'll report back in a while, I'm gonna give the car a bath to get rid of the giant Illinois bugs all over it (What do you people feed those things Chris?) and then I'm gonna get a shower and some sleep.
PS- It sure is nice to pass uphill without having to downshift.

Joel,
I took the opposite approach, and put 928 seats in my S2. what a difference. the 12 way switches really make finding just the right position very easy. the extra padding also makes the ride more luxorious.

Well, Pete- we feed the bugs here late model Honda Civics.. It takes several days for a hoard of bugs to consume each Honda, but it lowers our insurance rates here.. LOL
Glad you made it home Ok buddy!
