I also agree with Mr noble, 800 is really steep for the belts only. It's a quick job if your not doing the water pump.

I don't think Cole is getting bent out of shape about anything...he was just responding to William's comment. When he says, "when a car sits", I suspect he means 2 or 3 years, not months.

And I don't get the feeling he's urging the OP to change the rollers/pump because the car sat over the winter. As you said, if the rollers feel/sound fine while changing the belts, press on...and happy motoring.

I think at this point - if I end up buying it (which I think is inevitable) - I'm going to forego an immediate belt replacement and tackle it down the road. July would be 5 years since the big job was done, but at that point, it'll likely have 20k (km's) maximum put on since the whole job was done, so I'm pretty sure - even at that point - all should be tickety-boo in there....but I'll do the belts then, only...unless anything else looks to be an issue. I am **** to the point of ridiculous when it comes to maintaining my cars (though I'm no wrencher...basics only) - so I will definitely keep this car is as good of shape as I buy it, if not improve upon it...for example by removing the 'turbo S wannabe' late-offset wheels with the proper dials =) As a sidenote question, those rims have 245/45/16s on the rear and 225/45s front. Will those swap over to the stock staggered phone dials? I believe the oem sizing was 205 front and 225 rear...which really isn't that big a jump, width-wise?

They should.

I run 225/245 on my 7"/8" PDs and have no fitment issues whatsoever. Though, that 225 would probably fit better if it was a 50-series vs a 45-series.
