Default Parking brake

The parking brake release bottom and spring came out flying out of the handle yesterday and as a result parking brake can not be applied. Is there any way to fix that?
Thanks

Put the spring back in and screw the button back on.

If you have an early car take this opportunity to bolt in a late parking brake handle.

and, if the threads in the button are stripped you can make a new button out of aluminum or plastic or brass or stainless, it's easy.

I went to go put mine back in and yes you are right, there doesn't seem to be any threads left on it.
Now this might be a really stupid question, but, would this be something that my friend could make with a 3D printer at his work? I guess I would need to know its specs/dimensions first? ...He did say he was looking for something to make with it.

Just buy a new one and it will last you another 20 years. It's not like they are nla or expensive.
