Default DIY 951 intake and Maaco overspray

I used some free time today to relocate my air filter from behind the intercooler to behind the headlight for colder air. Total cost $2.69 for some PVC from Home Depot and two hose clamps. Not bad. Will PVC stand up to the heat? Also, look what Maaco did to my new Fabspeed Exhaust. Pathetic! Although the paint job was not so bad besides that...

Enjoy

Did you do the Garnet or Arena Red? How 'bout some shots of the whole car?
An hour with some polishing compound will take care of the muffler.

"Will PVC stand up to the heat?"

Shouldn't be a problem, air in the engine-compartment doesn't get hot unless you do a lot of stop & go driving in rush-hour traffic. It's the outlet air temp. of the turbo that you have to worry about.

My buddy has his 300ZXTT painted at Maaco. Overspray on his intercoolers and rims/tires. Not to mention a huge drip on the spoiler and 3 hairs in a rear quarter panel. Not bad for $200...

Mine was $400, supposedly their best job though. Moral of the story, Maaco SUCKS, but its cheap. Overspray on the wheels? Thats unacceptable and so easy to prevent...

Hey, weren't you debating on colors of red to shoot the car a couple of weeks ago? Glad to see you stuck with the stock color.

Yes, it would be nice to see pictures of the whole car.

If they shot the muffler in flat black, they might have been doing you a favor. Maybe you could cover it up with some black BBQ spray or the equivalent.

It almost looks like they painted the muffler this way intentionally, because they didn't get any on the axles, chrome exhaust tip, and there's no overspray from the hangers, either.

I got the presidential package from maaco for $450 and they got my radiator and muffler also. I just went to the self service car was and held the sprayer really close and it took the paint right off the muffler. And the paint never burned off from the heat. Its only been about three months and the paint is beginning to chip off. I took it back and they said they would sand the paint down where the paint was chipping off and repaint it. Im almost scared because they'll probably mismatch the color.
paint wasnt too bad though.
