It may not be accurate, but I remember reading somewhere that there were around 5000 S2 Cabs built.
Edit: I meant there were around 5000 S2 Cabs total. Yeah Wikipedia says there were 16 for '89 and all of them were sent to the US.

From 89-91 7139 s2 cabs were produced including 500 turbos. As stated in Micheal Cotton's book on 944s. Do some math if there were 16 in 1989 and 1200 in 1990 and 500 turbos that would mean 5000 plus for 1991. Don't trust wikipedia. Sorry I can't give you exact numbers for each year

Hi All,
I own a 1989 944 S2 Cab - bought it in Ontario, Canada. It has no airbags in the dash and has a metric speedo/odometer. It also has a different VIN than others WP0BA0946KN480xxx, other posts discuss the "BA0" as unusual. If anyone can shed any light on where this fits in the evolution of the 944 cabriolet I'd welcome the info, Thanks

Knowing the last 3 digits of the VIN would be interesting. For the 968, Porsche always reserved the first 60 VINs for internal use therefore the first regular car sold for sale of each body type and year was #61. My cab is NS840069 meaning it was the 9th 1992 968 cab. Only 2,008 North American 968s (US and Canada) produced over all 4 years.
