I've got a complete 90K 968 engine I'll let go for $3500. That'll be tons less expensive than what you are trying to do.

I might actually let me darn near new turbo engine go.

Btw: is there any known case of successful modification to this stupid water passage change? I was looking at 3.0 list and nobody seems to be using 951 head with 3.0 block.
This is a relatively easy modification which we've done many times. There's a couple of ways to do it, but best is to weld in a plate that accommodates the 3.0 passage, drilling the passage, then re-machining the deck surface.

I've also modified a 3.0 head to fit a 2.5 block.

I have 2.5 head with perfect ceramic liners and I also have 48mm 94410540903 intake valves from 2.7 + new 951 sodium valves.

I know a retired porsche factory mechanic that worked on cup 944s, 962s and he was wrenching on paris dakar 959 at the event. He is considered one of the best porsche factory mechanics.

He told me that ceramic liners are there for a reason. Ceramic keeps the heat away from aluminum, which cools the exhaust guide and valve more efficient if the ceramic is there.

Do you have any pictures of that mod? I would love to see one made, to show it to the shop that will do this work..
