Adjusting RPM gauges?
hey guys, I might be working on a custom dash for the early dash. and Id like to use one of these:for $50, seems worth a try. However what I would like to do if possible is adjust the RPM gauge. Since its made for almost double the range I need, is there some way to make it show double the RPM? (so it looks proportional when driving, nevermind that the numbers wont match up (maybe I can put my own numbers on it).
SO basically if the engine is at 5k, the gauge will think its at 10k?

Most aftermarket tachs have a switch or something to set it for a 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 12 cylinder engine. If you set it to a twin cylinder engine, it will read double.

The speedometer calibrator in the link below could be easily adapted to scale your tachometer. Just have the Arduino count the actual rpm pulse and have it output whatever pulse you need to the new tach...
