Default FS Turbo S (S4) front brake calipers

Pair of Turbo S calipers, coated with a mil spec ceramic heat shedding coating. (Coating was $150) Coating reduces temperatures 15-18% faster than bare aluminum according to the manufacturer.

$350 Shipped to the lower 48

Also have NIB Pagid orange pads for the above calipers. $150 Shipped to the lower 48

They should, I run 16x8" S2 wheels on the front of my track 951 with the Turbo S calipers. However, I don't think the 16 x7" will fit. .

16x7" and 16x8" 968 wheels will both clear the S4 front caliper. They may be different from other 16" wheels, though, and both S2 and 968 wheels are obviously late offset, so they don't really help the OP. Just thought I would add that.

But the 951 16x8 fuchs are early offset, if anyone can confirm I can run these up front with 16x8 early offset fuchs for my 86 951 without any spacers, i'll take em.

I am running 4 16x8 early offset 951 part number fuchs on my car, I don't want the staggered setup for time trial/autocross, I prefer a square setup with 8" wheels all around. The wheels clear the stock turbo 4 piston calipers, just not sure about a) bolt spacing on s4 calipers vs stock turbo calipers, with my stock turbo (non "S") spindles. and b) wheel clearance on early offset 16x8 951 wheels with s4 calipers.

PICS??

Thanks in advance.

Although the car is down for restoration work, I run S4 calipers under my 16x8 Fuchs on my '86. It takes a little work but they will fit. If you are planning on using off the shelf 993 (recommended) adapters you will need to machine 3mm off of the height to get clearance on the inside of the wheel and also to get the caliper to set correctly on a 12" rotor Vs the 12.5"

I went a little bit further and installed a custom made 12inch x 32MM (same width as the 993 and 928S4 rotor) that uses the big red rotor hat for the '86. I didn't try using a stock '86 front rotor because I wanted the better cooling of the wider disc and I had some doubt that the narrower (24MM) rotor would work properly with the S4 calipers. I used a non-Drilled 993 rotor turned down to 12". If you use a drilled rotor the holes will be to close to the outer edge. I would be interested to know if the stock turbo rotor will work with this set up if you try it.

I know, I love my Fuchs (8's and 9's Forever!) and I wasn't going to give them up for oversize brakes. That's why I wound up doing it this way. It's a great set up and in my opinion it is better to machine a little off the adapter than it is to machine the hub as other vendors offer in their over the hub conversion. Hope this helps.

I just installed the S4s on my early offset 951 this fall. I have 16x7 fuchs in front and I needed to use a quarter inch spacer. I also needed to move some of the wheel weights and it's a tight fit, but it works. The phone dials also fit (my winter tires) without needing to change anything. Still use the spacers.

I replaced the hub with a billet model and got the longer studs in then.

The S4 fronts made a world of difference to the track. I also got the 5/33 (i think thats the one) bias valve. I get a little more feel out of the longer brake pedal stroke too which is nice.

I don't know if there is anything interesting to see:

Some other things. The brake dust shield no longer fit with the larger caliper. I don't have anything installed back there right now, but I have some 3" duct plates to install once it's warmer.

I also installed the M030 spindles. The 88 Turbo S spindles. They're thicker and use larger bearings, but they don't need an adapter to mount the caliper.

I was sure nothing was going to fit and align right but yeah it all went together very smooth.

I'm no longer boiling the brakes, though I'm also using titanium backing plates on the Hawk pads. The bias valve brings more rear in and that concerned me while I was breaking the pads in because the rear was locking up before the fronts. BUT after everything broke in, the fronts still lock up way before but I'm getting much more stopping power. I haven't measured of course but I feel it in my face.

The better pedal feel is my favorite part. It was a razors edge for lock on the old pads but now the pedal is much more sensitive and I can threshold brake a lot easier.
