Default DIY custom gauge overlays

thought i would share my diy gauge customization. I tweaked the layout myself and spent about 3 hours laying these out using microsoft visio and printed them on digital photo paper at walgreens. cut them out and applied with double sided tape. counting my screw ups, I spent about $3.

nice job, the 120 would drive me nuts though but excellent job none the less.

Why yellow? Why that weird font? And yeah the "12-0mph" isn't very clean.

Just saying, if I bought the car from you I'd ask about going back to stock.

my plans are/were/still are to hybridize a late 944 dash with a 996 cluster cover and re-cover in leather.

the problem is the 996 instruments which work off their late '90s 911 can-bus interface.

one seriously unfriendly clusterf_ck for N. Hollywood Speedometer to untangle.

I saw yellow somewhere and liked it. I'll see how Ilike it and maybe try something else. $2 and about an hour and I can change all 4.

Can you still see the warning lights when they come on? ...and won't the heat from the shift light just melt the adhesive right off?

I think they're awesome. With a yellow backing you won't be able to see the annoying shift light.

I personally would prefer a crest on the water temp and 944 on the voltmeter and thats it.

Very nice job! I love DIY mods

sweet. I use visio for IT designs and would love the file even though my gauge setup for 987 are drastically different. Nice work BTW!

there are only a couple of those lights that are worth much, i can still see the "!". I'll prob just pull out the shift light bulb, i dont need it to tell me when to shift. :-)
