The low gas, voltage, oil pressure and high temp lights on the cluster should be cut out. If they come on you want to know about it.

LOL, don't feel bad. looks like something I would miss. But I would have installed the thing before taking a pic and posting it here.

Great work, time well spent dude.

Default Visio file for 944 gauge overlays

Attached is a Visio 2010 file with 3 sheets, each page is a slightly different version. sheet 3 is a white version of sheet 2.

Sheet 1 also has some notes I thought would be helpful. You will likely have to find and download the Porsche font (free from numerous places).

If you make your on variant, please share it with the group.

Enjoy!

My '84 Renault Encore had a shift light. What a great first car. Held a ton of crap and took untold abuse. Mine was red, like this:

The Archer Brothers actually campaigned them for a while in IMSA.

Some of them had cool bi-wing spoilers:

Good times...

Here is the final version. Turns out you can see the warning lights through the overlays.

Well done! Reminds me of the new Ferrari yellow gauges.

My best friend's older brother (who I *idolized* as a kid and credit for creating my own obsession with Porsche) drove one of those (before he bought a gorgeous cream 356C). I don't think any of those things survived... I haven't seen one in ages.

Very creative! I like how you un-busied the final product by taking out some of the crests. I also like the font better on the final product.

Years ago (mid 1990s) I did something similar with my old Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. Except color printing wasn't really possible back then... so I bought an extra gauge cluster set, disassembled them, spray painted them flat white, and then hit up the hobby shop and bought a sheets of anonymous model decals (typically used on model planes to put tail numbers on). I then carefully cut out the decals and placed them on the gauge faces, then dull coat clear'd over them. Turned out pretty good for what they were. I would've killed for a color printer back then!

Cool gauge work. Only thing is the temp gauge colors seem kinda conflicting to me
