Default Replace my 87 door - with an early door??

Hey all,

I have found a replacement drivers side door for my 87 951. Trouble is.....it's from an 84 car. Am I going to have any trouble swapping my interior panel on to this door? Any issues with seals etc on the outside? What about the mounting brackets?

Thanks!!

Unfortunately I can't be for sure but I think they are all the same. I think once I swapped a late model door on an early car.

I found this thread with an OEM door for sale. Questions were answered for what years it fits. Looks like the early cars had different "window guide" parts.

Thanks for the info.

The door is complete....so if anything I may just have to splice some wires to control the window/ mirror etc. Hopefully......haha

Great! Thanks

My drivers door has suffered a couple dents from parking lots (not my fault....) over the years. My plan is to replace it with a door that is in great shape.....and avoid painting the car for a year or two.

The early 924 doors have a different type of door latch than the later 924´s and 944´s. There is also difference in where the speaker "holes" are in the sheetmetal between the different years.

Hmm mine has different speaker holes too, its probably a late 924 one? its rather different than the drivers door. I figured it was a 924 door due to the speaker thing.

I think the 924s had three different speaker types in the front doors.

4x6 (Same as 944)
3 1/4" (Early cars)
And no speakers. My dad's '82 924 had no speakers and someone cut the door to fit 3 1/4" speakers.
