Sent a buddy of mine on a flight from Austin, TX to San Diego Tuesday morning to seal the deal and drive the car back for me... It's been an adventure. Car was represented by the seller to have working AC (it didn't) and other misc issues I'm going to have to tinker with that went unmentioned. Tony's due in tonight at around midnight, will post my full appraisal of the actual condition of the car when it arrives. Nothing like dealing with people that sound reputable on the phone but conveniently omit that the GD passenger door doesn't open.
At least it's supposed to be really nice cosmetically in and out.
I'm still excited.

Looks really good overall. For the Passenger door, Push in on the door while trying to open the latch from the outside. It could be the linkage from the door handle and the release latch is just worn. Or does it open ok from the inside? I have to push on my doors to take the load off the mechanism so the outside door handles will work.

Thanks guys. It will be here in about fifteen mins...
Here's the laundry list of problems as it stands so far:
Front wheel camber situation/alignment
Suspension bushings are shot
Front tires are probably shot from the 1300 mile trip cambered the way they were, backs are mediocre so I will probably replace all four.
12v outlet doesn't work/misc electrical troubleshooting
Trunk seals shot
Pass door handle
Power steering hose leak
Sunroof motor needs to be replaced
AC leaks...
So.
At least it looks and seems to run nice.

You'd be surprised how much camber tires can take as long as your toe is set correctly. I've been running my 951 with very aggressive camber on the streets for almost 2 years and ~6k miles and my tire wear is very acceptable. These cars like to have a few degrees negative camber all around. If I just bought a car with the same list of issues I would personally start with doing all the suspension bushings and hatch seal.
Its nice looking but you've made no mention of any mods. Is it stock? If so I recommend chipping it, adding a 3 bar FPR, and raising the boost a bit to start. Also look into coilovers, these cars benefit most from suspension upgrades. If you're replacing bushings anyway, I'd look into using aftermarket polygraphite and delrin and not oem rubber.

I have a complete sunroof raising assembly including the motor from an 87 available.
The "trunk seal" is probably the glass to metal seal, not the trunk seal itself, I've never seen the rubber seal actually go bad, but the glass will separate from the metal frame at the top and it will let air and water in - there is a FAQ on fixing, it's a PITA (I've done 2 cars), use the correct urethane adhesive and use both primers indicated on the tube, EXACTLY as instructed and it will work for years. Don't' use the primers (or use RTV) and it will fail in days.

Thanks for the heads up William. That's definitely the case, I noticed it last night when I took the car out for the first time. Glad to see that it's not a nightmare fix... I work at a dealership so I may get the proper adhesives and then have my pro glass guy do it.
My buddy that picked it up for me in CA is driving it to the ALMS at COTA and the PCA car corral today... Part of his payment.

The camber situation is worse than you'd think... Look at the right front wheel, it's awful and the inside tread blocks on the front tires are bald as hell. RF is much more aggressively cambered than the left, I'm hoping there isn't some bent suspension under there.

Sorry about that, didn't notice that the Turbo forum existed.
Edit: This is what it says at the top of this forum... So I guess both of us weren't wrong. 924/931/944/951/968 Forum

Tony (the guy who picked it up in Cali) has got the car at COTA and seems to be enjoying himself. Lucky dog... I'll be there with the 997 tomorrow, then the Driver's after party at Six Lounge.
