Post Windshield Washer Nozzle

One of my nozzles is not working and appears to be clogged. When I look at it, I see 2 wires going into the assembly along with the fluid hose. What is their function? Has anyone had experience fixing this assembly?

Soak the check valve in water for a while and reconnect it.

Where is the check valve? I have the same problem with my passenger nozzle, and the wire for the heater clips attaches on the driver's side. Do I have to tie a drag line to the wire to get it out, and back in?

Thanks

Hmmm. Would this problem also be a cause for intermittent spray out of one side? The right side sprays very strongly, but the left sometimes manages a little spurt (please no money shot jokes other than this one) before shutting off, and at other times is utterly impotent. Doesn't sound really like the same symptom. What is the check valve's function? Keeping fluid from spraying when the unit is too cold/frozen shut?

Thanks,
T

FWIW,

I have had problems with these valves recently, to quote, I had the little squirt problem.

I replaced both of them for about £10 ($15). They can be replaced in about 30 mins and there is no need to remove the heater wires, just replace the plastic valves. These can be identified by the T-piece and L-piece parts attached to the water hoses just below the bonnet jets.

Everything works fine now.

Best of luck

John

I reckon replacing the check valves will keep the washer fluid from dribbling down my hood all the time then too, huh?
