Default Help with Cat

Hey guys,
Can someone help me find a replacement cat for my '87 951? I was looking at the catco stuff, mainly because I just want to get it through smog here in socal as soon as possible (I know, ridiculous CA emission standards). The O2 sensor is going to be replaced too but it's been running so rich I believe the cat will be on its last leg at best.
Would this one fit by chance?

https://www.catalyticconvertersonlin...er-pc-1-109290

The year matches and says fits turbo models but specifies 2.7L models. Any help would be appreciated

just take it to a decent shop and pay the $350 to $400 to have them install it - I just put a new CAT in my 85.5 normal - the NOX dropped by more than a factor of ten - it was way high. The inexpensive replacement CAT won't last as long as the factory one. If your NOX isn't high, you don't need a CAT - do you have the measurements from the smog place?

I do have measurements but I cannot put them up until tomorrow- I left the info at the shop so they would be able to look at it. The NOx on mine was very high; dropping it by a factor of 10 would help a lot and would almost be necessary. Should I just go to a muffler shop and see if they can do a universal replacement or is there one I could buy?

If I could, I would. I'm thinking about getting rid of it and in Cali the seller must make it smog legal before sale- otherwise you can be looking at a lawsuit.

Smog checks don't exist in Louisiana!

Don't you just love Cali..... it's probably going to be easiest to just get it smog legal. Otherwise you're kinda stuck. Gogo racecar?

What's a smog test? I don't eve think our cop cars have cats in Indiana . Buy a cheap cat and just clamp it in, then after test weld in a test pipe.

If you want a full factory-style carb-certified replacement -- see this thread:
