Lightbulb Superchargers

Are there any supercharger options for an 1984 944?

The one from SoK says 85.5 and newer. I have sent a request as to why, but don't expect an answer any time soon.

Is anyone out there using a supercharger?

I think if you change the DME the supercharger for the 85.5 + would work on your car .Autothority sells conversions for the DME and yes they have a website.

I got a reply from Paul at SoK, yes Supercharging of Knoxville. There are several reasons why the supercharger won't work. One is the DME. The other is that the there is no place to mount the intercooler on the pre 85.5 cars.

I have a line a crunched car with this kit already installed. Unfortunately it sounds like I have to pass. Next time I buy a Porsche I am going to do a lot more homework.

I am so pissed that my 84 has all of these limitations.

It used to be that Rimmer Supercharges would sell you one for pre 85.5 vehicles. But their site seems to be down at the moment.

You can reach them by e-mailing rickrimmer@aol.com.

Unhappy

I emailed Rimmer today, and they no longer offer the supercharger for the 8v 944. Nor do they have any left in stock that they'll sell cheap. SoK looks like the best current option.

Hello all,

Has anyone heard more about the Huntley supercharger yet? I think it's only for the 3liter engines? 944S's and 968's? I've heard it'll start at 6000 bucs and a jump of up to 100hp, but no pics, or other specifics. Has anybody been THE guini pig yet? I got a hype response from them which basically was a repeat of the above, but when I asked more questions.... I'm still waiting for their reply.
