ignition wires recommendations for the 944?
Are the Bosch 09115 wires to be considered OEM for the 944? I'm chasing acceleration problems and I understand that some ignition wires are problematic for the 944. I really would appreciate recommendations and insights into selecting wire sets that won't cause me problems. I put new wires on the car a couple of years ago but it didn't solve my stumbling acceleration. I've been told that some wire sets can cause issues like this so I'm looking for answers.

I've had good luck with Beru wires. also be sure the rotor is good (there is a noise suppressing inductor inside the rotor), the inside of the cap is clean, and that the dust seal between the cam belt housing and the distributor cap (the white plastic washer like thing) is in place.

Ok, outstanding. I was getting the impression from some ads that Beru was the "type" of connector and not a manufacturer. I also wasn't sure if Bosch was the OEM provider for Porsche cars. This clears it up. I'm changing the AFM this week with a "known" unit and doing a follow-up vacuum check while I'm in there. If this doesn't do it, then I guess I'll spring for a new set of premium wires. I don't recall what brand I put on a couple of years back. Thanks for all your input.

You can test your wireset with a multimeter set to the Ohms setting. Look for any that are way out of whack. Longer wires should have more resistance. Your looking for open connections or unusual readings (ie shortest wire, highest resistance).

One of my issues with the "new" wire set I bought a few years back was that the connector always felt like it was loose when it seated on the actual tip of the spark plug. Not very confidence inspiring. Does the Beru wire sets feel like they've made a good electrical connection when pushed into the hole? I just replaced the spark plugs on my Dodge Dakota with a small v-8 and the long connector (with coil attached) really felt like it seated on the plug and I don't get that now.
