I have put on my Bursch, and new clutch, and I must say, I can tell a difference.
When I used to do my runs at 90-100 Degrees my times were significantly slower than at 70-76.
At 95 Degrees today I did some 0-60 runs and 1/4 mile runs.
Run 1: 6.94
Run 2: 6.94
Run 3: 6.90
Run 4: 7.01 (it stuttered on the the slight peel)
All the 1/4 mile times were between 15.37-15.6 right around 89-92MPH
-Half Tank of gas.
-Only person in the car.
I think that is about a .3 second shave off my avg. time. Where I really feel the most difference is in 4th and 5th gear really.

I was disappointed that my 1/4 mile times are SLOWER in certain cases or about the same. My 7.2 Runs would run 15.5 1/4 miles. It was kinda aggrevating, but I think it's where I'm switching gears in 3rd, that's all. I'm going to toy with that tomorrow, then we'll see wuzzup. I was taking 3rd to 5.95K RPMs, I think it dies earlier than 1st/2nd. So I'll try some at 5.5K

~2+ secs faster 0-60 compared to stock you dummies! I'm thinking about everything Craig has claimed to do on his car, and the effects of them on his car's acceleration... Something doesn't seem right with a much faster 0-60 run, yet around stock 1/4mile... Ahmet

I would like to see a run with the Gtech contraption thrown out the window and a guy with a stopwatch in the seat next to him.
Your times are very fast. Before and after the work you did. But especially now.
I volunteer to be the guy in the seat.

I have had someone stopwatch me. 7.3 was the abouts of it. I know noone believes me, but my friend is coming with me to a drag strip with his video camera. I'll have the results with you then. the G-Tech IS accurate, ask anyone who has taken it to the drags strip with them. Also, I thought the stock 944 1/4 mile was more like 16-17
Before I ever did a mod to this car, I ran like 7.3-7.6's. My car was already lighter than a normal '83 then. NOw it's EVEN lighter. I'm taking it to a truck weighing station sometime soon... ;-]

By the way Craig, this was an excellent post - and, IMHO, not off topic at all. I'm interested in the modifications and your results, and I'll bet others are too.

I would love to see a 944 of any year that actually takes 8.9 second to hit 60. If you find one it needs a rebuild. IIRC the FAQ shows 8.2 seconds, and the graph in my owners manual (without magnification and a micrometer) seems to agree. I also have just a few mods and consistantly run 6.9s. When I questioned the accuracy of the GTech in this very forum, I was assured that they are VERY accurate.
Reductions in exhaust system back pressure, will give you HP at the expense of a little torque, this may be why your 0-60 improved, but not your 1/4 mi.

Dave I love you, you were objective to this, and didn't just assume 'something was wrong'. =). I didn't run any 6.9's tonight though. I'm assuming it's because I had alot of electronics running, and my headlights were up, and I was a lit'l shakey from almost getting a ticket on my way out there for "swaying in the roadway". He thought I had been drinking, when Really i had been trying to find THAT STUPID phone my mom makes me carry around. Grrrr...

Also, I forgot to add.
Tonight I did a 7.12 0-60, and I tried my idea on 3rd gear (i almost redlined it) and then MISSED GOING INTO 4th, but redid it quickly and still got a 15.65. I was happy ;-]. My friend was getting bored so I didn't run again.
