Get ready to sell your firstborn in order to pay for a 968 windshield...Don't mean to be a kill-joy, but it'll be a whopper!

Maybe go Lexan and hope you don't get caught!

Since you sold the car this is going to be somewhat pointless but yes, agree with what most have said, $4K is good deal. I bought a 91 944S2 cab with 98k miles and had been sitting in storage for 4 years for around $3K. It had been in a front end collision and frame bent in front of the front axle. I sized it up and decide to repair it. I replaced everything front to back that needed it. The motor ran fine after I replaced the usual stuff. Yes, the windshield on that baby was $500...OEM 944 convertible (shorter than the coupe - RARE). I still have a few things to do but it is really a joy to drive, very smooth running. I'll have some pics when I'm done.
One thing I'd do differently...I was in a little bit of a rush trying to find replacement body panels, etc. and often grabbed what was on ebay or craigslist because it happened to be available at the time. Maybe you guys can relate but such parts often are not quite 'right' or have hidden issues and I have had to re-do purchases. If I had to do it again, I would take the time to find or wait for the best replacement possible. Give it time, it will show up. Could have saved $$ and frustration.
