Default Early 944 Evaporator Temp Sensor

I am working on making the a/c in my early 944 functional and have identified the evaporator temperatures sensor as a possible source of problems. When I measure the resistance in the sensor I get about 195 ohms. I read elsewhere on this forum that a good sensor should read about 146 ohms. Is this the correct value for a good sensor? Does anyone know what the operating resistance range is for this sensor? Is it safe to bypass it with a jumper to see if it is the cause of my a/c problems, or should I bypass it with an appropriate resistor? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
