Update. Motor is out, clutch was DONE, cracks in rubber center. I guess it was original. Number two rod bearing looks pretty bad. Going to have to remove the crank and check it well before starting re-assembly.

Bearings on the way!! Now to get cleaning, and start putting it all back together

The last one is what it looked like when I got it. Something to shoot for.

Crank is out!! Water pump, oil pump, upper and lower balance shafts all off. Now to start cleaning. I will get some pics tomorrow night. Once she's clean, I can start putting it all back together.

One of my greatest fears, is that if I die, my wife will sell the car and the parts for what I told her I spent......

Bearings are in, and measured. I did not quite torque the girdle down. When I measured the "crush" on the plastigage, it shows the clearance to be a little larger than spec. The measurement shows a little more than .076mm. I think I am OK. The lower crankcase was not all the way torqued, it was snug, and I'm pretty close. So..... keeping fingers crossed.

Not sure about the appearance of the cam lobes. Nothing feels rough or worn, just never see one before to compare it to
