Casey,

Additional research shows that the 951.423.091.11 part number is for 944 NA and Turbo, the 944.423.091.00 is for a 944S in my PET. I also looked up the 924S PET and found both numbers as potential applications, with the 951 listed for 1986, and the 944 number listed for 1987 on. I think that perhaps a call to a reputable dealer parts department such as Sunset Porsche in Oregon or RL members could chime in on if there are significant differences between the lines. It seems odd to me that my car would take the 951 part, but it would not work for 924S' as well, considering it is the same engine and clutch assembly.

Hmm, as FR mentioned, that had completely different routing than my line. I may be able to update mine to the later style, but I would hate to find Porsche stuck with the early line for a reason.

Do you have an under hood picture? It may some evidence if the routing will work. As you say, I can't see why it wouldn't work, all the major components are the same.

Edit: just checked my PET. I missed that 951 number the first time I looked. You are correct in your assessment. Time to start evaluating pics.

I could try to snap a picture tomorrow after I get home from work. Problem I have now is determining how easy it is to remove rear trailing arm enough to give me access to tap the sway bar mount. Clarks doesn't provide anything, workshop manual is not particularly helpful either.

Can you get me a picture of your predicament? I've ad my rear suspension completely out twice. I may be able to direct you. Possible even facilitate this weekend.

The only difference I can think of between your car, and my car, is the fuel lines. Yours come across from the passanger side wheel well. Mine come up from the driver side, about where the 951 clutch line might be. This wouldn't explain the 86 924 reference though. Silly parts bin 924s.

Edit:
There is a guy over on 924board that put a 951 heart in his 87 924s. He referenced the 951 clutch line routing as "paticular". I've sent him a request for more info.

I will take those pics as well tomorrow evening. What's your regular email so I can send full pix instead of spending time dumbing them down for RL? (You can pm that to me).

Earl's speedflex braided line, 42" long, it's -4. If they still carry it.

Is that what you did?

I found I similar line from another company that already has a 90 at one end so it shoul be one less part. At $18 I'm about to try it.

Edit:

I went with the 42in braided line. No manner which way I cut it it was cheaper than replacing my hard line. Should make for easier servicing in the future as well.
