Default Video: Changing the Gearbox Oil

Hi,

the video shows you how to change the gearbox oil at your 924/944/968. In principle an easy job, but the screw plugs may be hard to unfasten. But see yourself:

The video has a German soundtrack, but English subtitles are added to YouTube. If you don't see them by default, watch the video directly at YouTube and press the subtitle button below the frame.

Enjoy it,

Jürgen

Just did mine yesterday. Tried to use a 17mm bolt in place of the tool to get the drain plugs out. No luck. They were really tight not having been moved for 25 years. So off to the autoparts store. Advance Auto had a 7 piece set for $35. Autozone had a 3 piece for $13. Couldn't buy just the 17mm allen socket. Anyway if you are going to be doing this oil change, buy the tool. When my oil came out it was black and had the old oil smell. Can't really tell the difference in shifting or noise but feel good that it is now finally done. On a difficulty scale this is a 2 out of 5. 5 Being the hardest.

Another great video - thank you!

Now all I need is a pit/lift and access to all your tools!

I find it's easier to fill the transaxle with a long piece of clear hose from the top of the wheel arch, just snake it down to the fill plug and use a funnel. Makes getting the oil back in a breeze.

Unfortunately, getting the fill plug out was NOT a breeze.

I love the videos where a German guy is working on a Porsche. It just feels....right.
