The only time I ever need it is in the morning to wipe off the really fine dew, which wind won't blow off. Sometimes I remember to squeegee the glass before getting in, and if I could just build that into a habit I'd be set.
The reasons I took mine off: weight reduction, increased trunk space (yes, I really have utilized the added space), looks better (IMHO), and now it's easier to wash the car

I bought a delete plug because I thought I would be getting rid of mine. But over the winter I've noticed I've used it a fair amount. I have a long driveway and need to clean the rain off before I reverse down it. Also works for the snow when the defogger won't keep up.
I almost rarely leave the button on for more than a second though, and it takes up a ton of room, and really rattles with my subwoofer which is about an inch away.
So I'm pretty torn on it!
