I can provide photos later of my bike, a full carbon road bike with carbon wheels on the 944.
For info just on the rack system, go to seasucker.com

Just thinking aloud, I have a ski rack I bought a few years back. The lower bracket uses the bumper mount. I'm wondering about knocking together one for the other side and then have an upright attach to each to hang 2 bikes across. have one that the quick release for the front wheel (which you remove) to bolt into and a cradle on the other one to hold the back of the bikes. Or something simpler?
I know there's lots of off the shelf options out there but am thinking of trying something different. Any thoughts?

My one is an early type. I would call it a 924 one. There is a later one with better clamps/fasteners for the skis.

Burning Brakes
Hi guys,
I'm taking a vacation with my daughter to Martha's Vineyard next week, and I am seriously considering taking the 944 instead of my trusty Cayenne. Stupid or adventurous, I don't know which I am. I do need to figure out a way to bring our bikes up to the island, though, and I came across this old thread. It seems like the Yacama with the Q feet is the only viable option among currently available bike racks. What do you all think? Is it a good idea to strap two bikes to one of these things?
And while I have your attention, Is it a good idea to trust one of these cars for a 250 mile ride each way, and life on the island for a week? My car has been well serviced and it drives very well, plus it has a brand new battery, a brand new crank position sensor, and new spark plug wires.
