Bike racks again
Just thinking aloud, I have a ski rack I bought a few years back. The lower bracket uses the bumper mount. I'm wondering about knocking together one for the other side and then have an upright attach to each to hang 2 bikes across. have one that the quick release for the front wheel (which you remove) to bolt into and a cradle on the other one to hold the back of the bikes. Or something simpler?
I know there's lots of off the shelf options out there but am thinking of trying something different. Any thoughts?

I do that a lot too when its just my bike but when i pack my car for 2 people, luggage and 1 dog for a long weekend away I need my hatch space. It would be great to take our bikes. Thats why i got the ski rack. Sometimes I really need to use it!

i'd like to avoid roof racks. I love the silouette of these cars and i'd like the roofline to stay clean.

Ah I gotcha sorry. Daylight savings finished today im still tired! i'll look into it. I guess it will depend on weight and if I can put my licence plate on it. If I obscure my plate I'll get pulled over. if i can triangulate it somehow maybe a web strap from each upright with a female dome to attach to one of the male domes used for the hatch carpet.
