Default Painting roll cage

I thought you'd enjoy a video of painting the roll cage and interior on the ChumpCar.

FYI, Rustoleum Gloss Sunrise Red is a really good match for Guards Red - it's just a shade darker.

You appear to be paying far too much attention to detail with regards to painting.

I strongly suggest next time you do a respray on this car, it's done with nothing but rattle cans and some newspaper to protect the shop floor. That or paint the lawn while you paint the car, it gives the paint more texture and trapped bugs.

That looks great. Rustoleum Gloss Sunrise Red looks like it may be a good match for the Z24 chump.
Did you thin the paint at all?

Yeah, thinned it with about 1/3 mineral spirits. When dry, it's not quite as glossy. But from 10 feet it looks quite nice - you can't see the runs and uneven coverage.

The paint inside that chumpcar is going to look 100x better than the paint that is on the outside of almost all other chumpcars.

been there done that- looks pretty good. I wonder how a roller and brush would do for coverage- prob. take along time inside. Ours was pretty much just bare inside and we painted the bare metal cage white but left the rest....my white car however was much more work. I would suggest rolling the outside- i know it sounds dumb but i had a blast rolling the dragon and it looked really good, too good according to some. Easy to touch up as well.

The Dragon looks so clean!

I'm leaving the exterior of this car as-is.

Good idea Van, don't want it looking too nice.... they would find a way to get at you for that.

Did you remove all the glue and sound deadening?

I'm just sad you ended up power washing the other half of the car...
