Default Junkyard 944 find with pics

The Pull-A-Part on the south side of Atlanta just got in an 87 944 NA auto. I ran down today after work to check it out and see what I could get. I got everything in the picture for $93.50. The car was originally white but had been painted black. The passenger seat was missing but the driver's was there although there was excessive wear on the bolster. Both front fenders were bent up, door panels were soggy, no wheels, one foglight was cracked (driver's), steering wheel and dash were recovered, clock was missing, etc. I am hoping to get back down and get a few more parts so let me know if there is anything anyone wants. As a foot note - just happened to run into a Porsche buddy down there pulling parts off a 914

They also had an early 85 down there - it has been there for a while and was picked over....

Here are some pics of the 87...

I'd be interested in the 87 auto T-shift handle/boot assembly if it's not broken/cracked where it attaches to shift lever.

Thanks!

That's nothing a can of VHT Niteshades can't replicate!

Nice score Josh! Do you think the recovered steering wheel and dash are worth pulling?

The dash just had a plastic cover on it - yuck Steering wheel wasn't too bad though - would be fine on a driver...

What's the condition of the bottom bolster on that driver's seat? The picture has a plastic bag sitting on it. I might be interested in that.

As a side note, if that car were in MY junkyard, I'd be thinking about pulling off lots of parts, even in 20 degree F weather! Tail lights, rear license plate frame, fuel filler door, 944 emblem, any electrical switches and switch opening plugs, radiator expansion tank, windshield washer tank and pump, and oval door vents. I'd also be grabbing the nose panel off that white car!

I'm a scrounger! But those are parts that will sell.

Nice cache of parts you got for under $100 Josh!!

Hi Darrell - seat was ripped right across the bottom The nose panel on the white car was scrunched up pretty bad on one side too.

I think I might go pull a few more parts at some point. Last night I was able to fix on my car the left vent, heat always on issue, drooping sunvisor and replace some missing spare fuses

Oklahoma Foreign has dozens of 944/924/968's that look like the above pictures. They had a real nice 924 that someone had spent a fortune restoring for his daughter to drive. She then wrecked it within three weeks. It was one of the better cars they had. I am pretty sure they are like any wrecking yard. They store the cars outside so they degrade rather quickly. I think the best chance of getting any really good parts is when they get a new car in.

Is that like an 18" subwoofer in the passenger floor?

I could use the housing that the hatch pins screw into... If the pins aren't seized and you can get one or both out. Not sure if they are identical. Bring your triplesquare or cheese head.
