Has anyone heard from Josh lately? I sent him an email and a PM regarding a replacement chip he offered me a while ago and he hasn't contacted me back yet. I realize he's a busy guy, but it's been a few days....

Edit- if my chip is dead, is there any way you could send me the updated chip? The increase in fuel economy sounds enticing.

Jeff, yep I received your old chip. I will check it out and send you another. Are you ready to start the car?

Almost. All I have left is the oil cooler seals, the front main seal (if I can get that damn key out ), and put the cam tower back together. After that I should be good to go.

Hey Josh, did you get my email the other day? Just wondering what the status is of our 3 ECU's?

I only see the one email - and I guess I missed your question.
Replied.

No chip-only solution will match the % gains of the NA-Tune. I put that challenge out on one of the other forums, and I will carry that challenge here as well.

I believe Josh will be giving one away at 944Fest this year. A VERY generous door prize.

Im thinking about buying this too. Josh, I am planning to build a header and exhaust system, and eventually an intake manifold. Is it possible to modify the tune to match the improved flow? I also have a mild cam (web cam)

"Now what Rogue has done is wayyyy better. If you really can gain 10 to 15 hp and 20 to 30 torque with his system(which he has shown with dyno proof),then that is a huuuuuge gain for the money. 10% more hp for a bolt on system!!!! Plus he gives you his chip."

So where are the data, e.g. dyno runs, to indicate the independent effects
of each variable in this mod, i.e. the MAF, the timing map changes, and the
fuel map changes? Combined effects based on dyno runs are of no value
in determining the true value of the 'performance' product.

This type of mod has been hyped for the 911 3.2 and the 964 to max the
selling price versus just selling a 'performance' chip. When tested, the
data indicated that the MAF versus an AFM results in little to no gains
by itself. As with most 'performance' mods for stock engines, it's all about
'pushing' the timing.

Read here about 'performance' tuning:

https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...-the-myth.html

And then read here to see how the ignition maps are 'pushed':

While I am the OP, I would rather not get to be known as a thread '****'.

That being said, I would rather that discussion have it's own thread. It will give it the room it deserves, and it will keep this thread on track and subject.

Since I haven't been watching the Genesis of this blog about Josh's mods to the 944 N/A, Is there a basic list of all the mods that have been put in "Package" format to inform me of the individual mods and prices that are included? I've been so busy doing all the "basic" stuff to my '87 N/A to make it right, I haven't explored performane mods to date.
