I am looking for a light weight hood for my 944 street car. I am looking for best possible fit / quality (as close to original look as possible).
After searching here on rennlist I understand that most fiberglass parts for our cars has are not made for street cars... (not very good fit and quality).
Who makes the best light weight hood?
Does anyone have any experience with teilecar.com?

I'd check with Mike at IFC. His work enjoys a very good reputation. Having said that, I have a nose piece from teilcar and it is of good quality. I will have examples of both company's work on my rebuilt trackcar in the not too distant future.

Thank you for your answers.
I am considering this nose piece too. Does it look as good as a stock (metal) part when it is mounted? Or can you clearly see that this is not an original metal part (not as straight and good fit)?

The fit of it is good. It's not painted yet so I don't have any pics. I think it will be very good once it's all finished.

951 goes off my scale (5lb limit) I guess it's about 5lb 8oz (2.5kg).

I just checked their site and saw the fiberglass rear hatch - first one I've seen that I think actually looks good AND natural.
Anyone have one? Any feedback? And any idea how insane it would be to ship to the US???

I don't see the weight of the nose piece being of any significance. There are so many other areas to reduce weight if that's the objective. Also, just putting in a ventilated nose piece without any hood venting is almost certainly counterproductive. In fact some would say it can hasten wear or even expiration of your motor...so be warned. It's not to say you can't run one and live to tell the tale, but you are generally going to create a high pressure zone unless you vent your hood and allow egress of the airflow. Something like the 968rs turbo is about right in terms of duct location.
As for a really good hood, I'm pretty sure that there will be something available next year in c/f that won't be stupidly expensive...but not the normal 944 student cheap either. I also have door molds for top shelf c/f version. Not cheap though. Only for the serious. Price top quality c/f doors for a Cup Car to see just how expensive good work costs. These won't be nearly that expensive but probably somewhere in the vicinity of $5k a pair, maybe less.

Just saw this. Not sure what's happening but I suspect at those prices it's a real c/f hood?
