The better hvac has more to do with flow control. It's not possible to have a/c come out of the defroster vents in and early car. This has stranded me on the side of road in heavy rain with a bag of fries (shop lunch run) in the car due to a fogged up windshield. The late car can do it.

for no reason other then I have one

Oh and if its over 25 years old you can insure it as a classic assuming you have a DD. I pay $100 a year

And in az, dunno if elsewhere, if it's 25yo+, you never have to take it for emmissions.
