Default Parting 1988 924S

While pulling out the motor on the 924S I discovered some more rust than I want to deal with, and as much as I wanted to make this car into a GTS tribute I have to admit that it isn't the best starting point.

- 924S Sunroof delete Chassis - $200 - Rust is in the typical spot, the battery tray, but it spread into the fender well. It can be fixed, or the chassis can be cut up and used to save other cars. I plan on pulling the rear suspension, but if the buyer wanted it, I am sure we can work out a deal.

We all know you are being negative, that is just who you are.

But sure, this is the last of the 924s in the garage. I may have kept one of the other ones had I known about the rust damage on this one. But thankfully I still have the 86 951, and once I get this 924 parted out and hauled away I will be on the look out for another project car. I hope that next project is another sunroof delete 924S, but it is hard to say what will be for sale in the NC/SC area.

well, after seeing one in the flesh the other day, i'm able to see things with a much more open mind. for one, there's a significant potential for improving the performance... God, imagine a turbo or 3.0.... or even a V8.... any S car running even a 3.0 variocam would be scary fast.... and my criticism of the 924s have centered around the idea of weighing them against other alternatives that cost almost the same..... as, with all the 944s around, doing one of those (even starting from a completely dead shell) would be the better choice. despite that i've not been the greatest supporter of 924 projects (and every car we own and drive is a project), it's never good seeing one of the '87s or '88s getting *parted....

*(friendly word for junked)...

I am interested in the door panels, complete manual window mechanisms, and complete manual mirror mechanisms. Let me know what you want for all of that.
