Dont worry, felt like thats what you wanted me to do. Im thinking abt disconnecting on the bar where it mounts to the frame instead of the Trans mount itself. Gotta remember what size i need to remove the coupling, my hex heads seem cheap and want to strip out heads (paranoid there, due to all the other stripped bolts). Goal is to do it tomorrow after class.

Stupid question but why didnt you assemble the front of the engine Belts and such while it was out of the car. Wouldnt that make the process faster than inside the car?

Yeah it would but I'm dumb some days. Either way the motor wont be in for long, tomorrow ill pull it out and focus on the transmission. Just need to do Timing Belt for front motor. Im missing the bottom two rear belt cover bolts or the front of the motor would be done by now.

This is what i did this weekend:
The motor is finally in. I still got a ways to go tho. Hopefully next weekend ThirdGen and I will knock out the transmission and torque tube alignment issues, maybe more...

usually getting the motor onto the tt has more to do with the angle of the motor and how well you aligned your clutch - a few times ive had the motor floating in there, hooked up the clutch slave and had someone step on the clutch pedal to "release" it and the motor slid right on. Ive never pulled the trans to align that before, seems like alot of extra work.

My main concern with using the clutch petal is if its not at the correct point; wouldnt the Clutch and Flywheel drop down in the BH? (One of the bolts on the BH is stripped so I cant open it up to fix stuff if i mess up). Its abt an inch or two of gap from the mounting point on the TT to the back of the BH. Now that the Motor is mounted it should be at the right angle. I can spin the spline but since the motor has been installed its gotten more resistant.

This weekend's shenanigans:
Its getting closer and closer.
PS: If some one could hook me up with the specs for nose panel and glove box hardware, that would help me out with small stuff while waiting for a new clutch slave. Cya around, Rennlist

Looking good, making better progress than I am(swapping in an 88 924s engine in my 87 944). Thought I'd throw it out there, any plans for the wheels on the donor car?

@Chris; Arent swapping motors fun? I have 2 sets of phones (15") with summer tires (one good set and one bad) then a set of cookies with winter tires. The Phones will be played around with for paint ideas and such.

Help, new snag (12/3/12)
Well decided its time for an update:
Everything is in the car as we speak yet i have hit a snag when it comes to turning the key and being finished with this projekt. I got a loud click sound on the first start. So I assumed the problem originated from the starter or battery. My battery was running at abt 50% charge (charging it now just to help) but felt like it shouldnt be the problem. Now I looked into the starter. After class, I took in the starter and got it tested at a local autoparts store and it worked (sparked like hell on the first test but worked). Went back and bolted the starter in while taking care of a fuse i forgot abt (Fuel Pump), a vacuum line, and a ground near the driver side headlight. Then when I tried to start it for the second time, i got 2-3 "clicks". Tomorrow, when i get the hood open, I plan on pulling the DME Relay and seeing what happens when i start it. Thoughts and Ideas? I want this project done :P
