245/45/16 - New tire choice available
Trying to find tires for 16x8 or 16x9 wheels has been getting a bit harder, but thankfully a new 245/45/16 choice just came onto the market. I ran these tires on my old 911 and really liked them, and had I noticed these were available I would have ordered them for my 951.

I installed these for the rear of my 951 Fuchs 2 months ago. I've installed the 225 for the front. I love them. The rear wheels look much better with those (I had the 225 in back before).
P.S. for Ontario/QC buyers that do not want or can't cross the border to save on duty/brokerage, I've purchased the set at http://www.ottawatiresdirect.com/pro.../cName/45-5-16
They came up cheaper, even with installation/balancing, than if I would of purchased them at tirerack.

I've run these on my Cayman. Fantastic street tire dry or wet (until very worn), and track tire as well with outstanding grip and very good wear.
I got 24k miles, 2 x AX's, and 10 - 12 DE days out of my last set.

If the Dunlop Z1 StarSpec made the 245 in 16's, I would of probably went with them, at a a much cheaper price. But I'm not sure they would of last as long as my new RE11. Maybe it's better paying more, for getting a longer life, and not having to pay for installation/balancing all the time also : )

''O'' duranduran....
I'm trying to understand your comment here? Are you suggesting my 951 fuchs wheels would be great for holding Blizzaks tires?
Any wheel would be good to hold Blizzaks tires.
If this is a joke, I'm sorry to say that you can go Fuch youself.
I don't understand your stupid comments tonight on Rennlist, maybe you had a little too much to drink?
Or maybe your just pissed off and putting your pissed off negativity here tonight.
Anyhow, go ''fuchs'' yourself.

Robster, do you think those Bridgestones are over-priced. i think they look pretty good..... no, i didn't see his comment about 16" fuchs. i was assuming the op was talking about 16" phonies—which are perfect for blizzaks. i like fuch's wheels. especially the new 18's they had on display recently at the P-car dealers.
there was this post above.... and i did make 1 post about glass yesterday (not about the 944. i had a little fun with the op about his 30 year old glass needing replacement....) after driving the 968 600 miles to take in a morning of surfing at Manasquan inlet and arriving at the house in mass in time for dinner....

later that evening, i set the record straight after being misquoted on the Turbo vs Ford GT debate...
stating the following;
sorry.... i was exaggerating using 5000 rpm (when we know they make good power at 5000 rpm). i should have stuck with 'mid-level power' and used a more measured adjective than 'gutless....' 300~350 hp from a 4 cylinder/2.5 is a lot. pardon, if i see pushing them past that point looking a lot like the slippery slope toward a racing program..... i can't be too far off; if it weren't true then so many people wouldn't be gone from the forum; some threw good money into tired engines, but, it doesn't seem like this has always been the case.
i didn't say 1000 hp.... just the same, nobody is taking a Ford GT to the track that hasn't had a few things done to make a little more power (600~650 hp), but still be streetable..... the 944T is a damn good car (maybe the best before the F-40 and 959 arrived).... but other cars have come along that are better; taking hotrodding to more capable platforms with better handling. and some of the guys are doing that with the 944.
overall, a pretty good night after a great day...

How many times do I have to say there is a high performance summer tire from Firestone in 225/50/16 and 245/45/16... Just search their site, by Primewell, but look at the specs (and cheap!)
