You will find some old ones here in the UAETCC albums 4-7 and the GTC albums:
http://www.dropshots.com/SteveA
And a couple of odd ones here:

I have a heap more but never enough time to organise them online.

Here's a video from Saturday - unfortunately Steve was in a different group so no video of his car. Car in front is a 996GT3 on slicks.
It's a short track with 2 quick right/left switchbacks which unsettle the car a bit - but it was actually a lot of fun with shagged tyres, with some mild drifting around the slower corners.

Certainly isn't disgraced by the GT cars in a straight line Eric. If anything I'd say you look to be apexing a little early just compared to the cars in front. Those two little right-lefts are a bit annoying. Were you in 3rd? I'd almost try 2nd. Might help, might not. What tyres are you running?

Yes - ran those S bends in 3rd. I have tried second and it pulls a little quicker out but not much.
Tyres are R6 225/245 16s.
Yes - I do tend to apex a little early - bad habit.

Nice video and driving Eric! I will try and do one on the same track for comparison. It won't look as good because the camera was pointing of to one side, but should give the data. I saw you were also using a camcorder, but an HD one. So much better than my old thing. What brand is it and what resolution/fps is that recorded at?

Steve,
Thanks.
Its a JVC HM320 with flash memory - pretty cheap IIRC (<$300). It records at 1920x1080 at 30fps. I don't use it at highest quality as it uses so much memory. When I process through trackvision it gets slightly compressed anyway . Then when I upload to You-Tube I compress again and the video quality is not so good. ie - original file size 1GB, trackvision file 600MB, Youtube 70MB.
Make sure you get one with flash memory - not a hard drive (probably hard to find one of these now anyway) as they aren't so great in a car.
Thanks.

Steve,
Cool video. It almost looks like you tapped the V8 Supercar as it went past. You certainly keep up with the cup cars on the twisties - just need more power for the straights!

Love the "Hey look over there" camera angle Steve. With two very tight and slow corners on that layout we don't stand a chance against the rear engine cars but something to build on for sure. Oh, and I'm prepared to donate to the 'Let's get Steve a new camera and mount' fund.

It's interesting to see the difference between running the car here compared with Dubai.
First thing I notice is that both Lakeside and Queensland Raceway seem like tiny little go-kart tracks compared to the longer wider and faster flowing FIA grade tracks of Dubai and Yas Island. The tracks are really narrow. I keep looking at the grass and fences on the exits and thinking hell, I don't want to drop a wheel there! This is only psychological and with more familiarity with the layouts I will be able to drive the car on the limit to the edge of the track on exit, but it's a bit butt tightening when you don't know the track. Props to the V8 boys who run these tracks three wide in the corners and manage to stay on the hard stuff.
Actually the car felt better at Lakeside than QR probably because I know the track better, but also because it is much faster and flowing than QR which suits my setup and powerband a lot better. The short tight corners at QR, even on the longer layout were hard to get through quickly with a lack of front end grip and, as a result, not being able to carry enough speed in third gear to keep in the power band. Second gear just spins the rear wheels and upsets the car and the speed really shouldn't be that slow anyway. The engine just dropped in a hole running on to the front straight at QR which killed the speed down the straight. That should be improved with some setup changes, but I also need new tires.
The other noticeable thing at both tracks is how bouncy the ride is. I am used to the car running very flat and smooth. I think there is only one bump in one corner in Dubai that ever upset the suspension at all. Despite QR having recently been resurfaced both tracks seemed bumpy and you can see the car bouncing it's way around the tracks. It's a bit like driving a pogo stick. Possibly time to regas the Motons and drop the front spring rates a little.
Good fun though, and I look forward to sorting out a few issues and getting the car up to a decent competitive pace at both tracks. However, first I need a hood................!

Drove this same layout on Friday with the Porsche Mt Cotton organisation. Bunch of new or current cars like Boxter S, 991, Panamera and then Cayman, 997 2/4, GT3, 997tt. Just amazing how well the new cars drive and grip compared to our old things. The PASM etc is like cheating. Soooo much grip just on road tyres. 997tt was hitting 215-220kmh down that straight just in Auto mode. Fast car.

I'm actually trying to get rid of a Canon VIXIA HF200 HD camcorder with 16GB of flash space for US$200. Will ship down under! Used maybe a dozen times, full retail box and remote, like new. Did track with it once, video below. PM if interested!
