Default Signal Green 944 16v

I've got the car back from being painted this week so I'm about to start work on it to get it 'perfect'. She's now all MOT'd and taxed so shes already been out on the road.

While she was on the ramp in the garage I got them to change the gearbox and diff oil so it saves me having to crawl about underneath her.

I'm going to give the engine a major but, I was wondering if there was anything else I should be considering doing?

Definitely do the timing belt and waterpump to start fresh - and stick with 3 years interval instead of 4 years (ask me how I know). Is this an "S"? If so, you might want to do the camchain and camchain tensioner (or just the guide) also. Since you are that deep, a couple more hours you can get to the headgasket and maybe the valve guides as well.

Lovely colour - first time seeing 944 in signal green!!!!

Looks great in signal green but i can still see the red in the boot ,you should take care of that, looks bad. Did you also paint the engine bay ?
Do you prefer the spoiler-less look ?

The car is due go back and have the interior and engine bay painted but, I needed the car back so I could use it and I needed to free up the painter as I have 2 more cars with him! When it is (eventually) done she will look superb. Just trying to sort out seats and wheels at the moment.

The early 924 tailgate was put on by the painter to try and keep the car looking 'clean'. I'm going to see how I get on with it but, it's really growing on me.

That color just has "race car" all over it. Very nice.

The plan is to remove the rear seats completely, clean up the rear floor and then paint it (and do the engine bay at the same time) and then potentially put a roll cage in it. I'm looking at Cobra Suzuka seats as shown in the picture. I've got the inspiration for these of one of the club members in the 924 owners club, here in the UK. The wheels are possibly going to be colour-coded 17" FUCH's (I've got a set hidden in the shed) or something slightly more exotic but I'm not 100% certain yet.
And finally, I'm going to make some lexan windows and make some lightweight door cars.

It may take me a while..............

I like the green instrument numbers. I do miss my '88 924S, had the early interior.

My favorite part was the non- conventional "backwards" tachometer. Just seemed "racier" somehow.

When I someday get a second 944 as a track car, it will be an early N/A car so I can enjoy both worlds.

May even be signal green now!!

Keep us posted.

Yes, it's from one of the heavily modded 924 turbos here in the UK.

Does anybody know where I can get the chain tool that is shown in the WSM? I've got the timing belt tool and flywheel locking tool as they're the same as my old 928 but I'm struggling to locate the chain tool.

Awesome! I have always wanted to paint a 944 entirely in Signal Green with black wheels!

It's like a reverse version of my car! And since this photo I've also installed a Signal Green rollcage and painted the gauge bezel Signal Green. And also my 5-point harnesses are also a bright green (Takata) which looks sooo similar to Signal Green.
