Default strut mounts

had my '86 n/a in at the shop today to get an alignment done after changing the tierods. They rang back pretty quick to advise my front shocks and the shock mounts need attention before they can do the alignment properly.

just looking at pelicanparts, paragon and dc auto, am i looking for parts 10 and 11?

any other cvendors anyone can recommend?

Pretty sure those are NLA, from what I've read. 944online sells aftermarket aluminum strut mounts. Probably other options from other vendors.

Good luck, and maybe I'm incorrect!

compared to oem at Pelican @ $973.00/pair for my 968 and $2,579/pair for the S2.

yeah, i guess you can say that's a good deal.

thank God for our spare parts bin.

if these are the KLA I put them on my S2 cab and they work great. I got them from paragon. Just be careful that you install everything in the correct order. Much less expensive and look a lot nicer then stock as well.

You probably only need the rubber bit, the one with the bearing. It's number 10 in your diagram. They are cheap. DON'T lose the leeetle spacer (number 9) or you are toast, they are nla.

Are you sure your shop knows what it is doing?

I had the KLA plates ,they are good but if you dial in too much camber the top nut will rub on the aluminum casing and the steel bottom plate will warp over time.
Now i have 87+ factory mounts and they are much better than the early style mounts ,they also last longer, downside is they cost a fortune.

Good used parts from a reputable recycler can be a good avenue. George B at 944 Ecology is the guy to call.

The hard sphericals will jar your teeth and wear out the control arm ball-joints at the spindles real quick.

is that in reference to the 944online items?

camber plates would be nice but here in NZ once installed the modification requires a certification plate from an engineering authority to be road legal.

I made a few for the hybriders and a couple for the 4 banger fans. I found that the factory ones were foam-like rubber and sagged easily. The poly is still working perfectly.
