Default NEW HERE AND NEED HELP

Hi guys

Im new to all this, My dad died and he had always wanted a Porsch so I bought a non runner 944 1985 only 64,000 miles for not to much money, I have now got it started, but still needs so much doing to it, I have limited funds and am looking for any help I can get, I live in Cornwall Uk. Any advice on cheap parts or local people who could help me would be great.

Thanks

Paul

No way to get a non-runner going without tons of cash, but I hope I'm wrong - the thought of driving a 944 on Cornish lanes gets me all wet just thinking about it! Good luck! And welcome!

If you can do the work yourself and can read tech articles on the internet and Clarks garage, you can save thousands. I replaced all the belts, rollers, oil pump gasket, water pump, rubber seals front and rear, new clutch (a $100usd ebay find), rebuilt injectors, brake rotors, stainless lines and pads and not including the new wheels and tires Ive spent around $2,000. Car doesn't leak anything and is now very reliable.

Timing belt, water pump and rollers ASAP or you may have a non-runner sooner than you would like.

What was causing it to be a non-runner?

Get in good with your local Porsche club. They will know who will have a parts car laying about out in the country or something that you might can parts parts needed cheap.

Good luck and stick with it, make your Dad proud looking down.
