Dan,

I don't want anything too stiff, i was thinking around 300 or 350 springs for the front and 250 for the rear (leaving stock torsion bars in it). Sway bars will be added later, my shocks and struts are so blown out from the torque of this motor that i definitely need to replace all four corners. I have an 87 turbo trans in it that i was planning on swapping a tall 5th gear into, but i haven't done it yet (highway revs are KILLING me!)

Thanks Doug! What would you guys recommend in terms of manufacturers? I wanted to go with the GAZ setup, but that's come up in price a good chunk since last year, so i'm not sure if that's worth it any more. I'd like height and stiffness adjust-ability, but i guess as long as i get the height set properly i will be happy with just bump/rebound adjust-ability.

here are some more pictures, washed, compounded and waxed it yesterday evening!

For your budget I recommend new Koni's all the way around with an ARHK from paragon or Ground control and 30mm torsion bars. That is the cheapest setup and if you are pulling the trans anyway it is rather easy to drop the whole rear carrier and swap Tbars.

i like that idea, do you think the 30mm torsion bars will be enough to handle the torque from the V8 squashing that rear end down?

hrmmmm...i dunno, i may put down the money for a set of rear coilovers...i'm not sure yet i guess

edit: did some research on T-bars and coilovers. If i ran rear coilovers i would probably run a full coilover and delete the t-bars, since they can cause some bounce when run in conjunction with a stiffer rear coilover. I'm still not sure which way i'm going to go...but i'm starting to lean toward upgrading the torsion bars...does anyone know of an adjustable rear shock? what kind of lifetime (for the shocks) am i looking at with a nice set of new rear shocks and a set of 30mm torsion bars? Should I go any higher than 30mm?

Wrap the hood in carbon fiber 3M and do the header panel but not the light covers and get a shiny new crest.

Looks sweet.
