New 968
I wasn't anticipating doing this, but I went to look at a 968 yesterday, and ended up buying it today:
It's far from perfect: for example, parts of the paint have been fixed with a spray can, and the lower plastic cladding is sealed to the body with caulk (not a bad job, in truth, but not exactly OE-spec).
It's originally a Florida car, so the dash has cracks and the exterior rubber is all pretty bad, and it's been hastily fixed at the front (including new headlight buckets, so I'll see how that looks when I start to pull it apart).
It drives nicely and is complete, except for a tow hook and tool kit. Edit: found the tow hook!
Oh, and there's also the graphics:
They're likely coming off soon.

As for the good, though (still to be verified):
- New clutch
- New belts last year
- New rollers and water pump five years ago
- New cam chain tensioner pads (and chain?) when the PO got it five years ago
- Fresh brakes
- LSD
- Good ride, though a little soft for what I'm used to
- Seems generally healthy, though I'll do a compression test next week before pulling the valve cover to check those tensioner pads

Congrats Charlie,so you did boutgh it, not a bad car for the prize really.Told you you'll find it soft compare to your 951 but a little suspension upgrade + 17" wheels & the rigth tires should do the job ride wise.Probably has the OEM front strut/inserts & rear shocks as it is.Have fun & enjoye.

Hmm where did you pick that up? I watch kijiji constantly (as my cab is listed there) I have my eye on a few cars while waiting for mine to go...I didn't see this one. Cool. Size up the car, decide what you want to do with it, then let us know! Cool find..hopefully you got a discount for all the stickers...unless they are hp adders!
On the topic of handling. Watching the 968's at 944 fest, they definately looked more awkward on the track compared to the 44's. Softer, more body roll, they just looked heavy going through long sweepers.

Congrats Charlie. Should be a really fun car but I hope the likely bit of removing the stickers refers to how soon and not whether you are pondering keeping them lol

Nice find Charlie! Did I see this one arond town before? I seem to remember one with crests like that or maybe it was a 944, can't remember. Looks like the money from the rims and seats came in handy eh. I've got a nice set of 18's for $2500.00 if your interested, lol!
What are you going to do with the 951? Which one will be your track car?

Best combo for a street driven 968 will be 8 x 17 with 225-45 ZR 17" tires frt & 9.5 x17 with 255-40 ZR 17 rear this his what most 968s guys are using for the street,got Falken 452 on mine it's a very affordable & good all around tire.But if you plan on tracking the car it will be another story as tires choice but you should stick with 17" on a 968.Btw Charlie if you want to refresh the front springs & struts I got an OEM set with very low mileage sitting in my garage.It's off an 93 but should be compatible with your 92.
