If all you found was a pigeon nest in AZ after leaving it outside consider yourself lucky!

Go ahead and pick up an 87 valance, it's same kind I have right now. Just finished first primer coat. $25 is a steal if it's good shape!!!

You can still mount it up to all the holes except the bottom 4. I will be custom making a plate that connects the bottom to the radiator mounts...
The air deflectors connecting the valance to the radiator are all different, too. I got an Early valance to use on my Late car, it just isn't an easy conversion.

Currently the air deflector on my car is a cut-up Cheerios box painted black and zip-tied in place...the car runs much cooler though

(Don't worry, soon the whole front end will be aluminum-ducted for max cooling and shinyness)

Find some FG or sheetmetal and have at it...

shouldn't take you long to prep that thing.... a few things to remember... after sanding, all exposed plastic dies (spoils) within a few hours after the oxygen hits it... and it won't easily hold paint. also, do the best you can to cover all your work from the damaging rays of the sun.... the way to make any prep work last a long, long time is by making an ultra sticky resin for conditioning the plastic before applying your much harder finishing resin mix... looking forward to seeing your finished car.

It's not that it's taking a while, it's just not priority.
