Default (interesting part # info) Getting around to painting my front valence!!!

Found out another use for the fog light buckets

Went outside to grab my new valance to start prepping it, and discovered a pigeon made its home in the fog hole... Well, I guess I have extra cleaning to do before I start sanding...

Once I'm finished, I think I'm gonna miss that tan valence...

Quit slackin, you could have had that thing half painted already instead of posting/procrastinating.

or he could really get us by painting it, but painting it a different color than his car. Like LIME GREEN with PINK strips.

Just noticed that the new valance isn't the same part # as my old one!

New one's number is 931 505 371 04

Old one is 931 505 371 01

My new valance doesn't fit to the bottom mounts to the radiator like the old one did. Hard to explain, this thread helps clear things up a bit.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...t-valance.html

Come to the conclusion that only the 83 cars had 01 part numbers. And they had a center piece that extended to the radiator mount.

84-85 cars had the new style valance with a bracket that made up for the space between valance and rad mount.

85.5+ cars had new style valance and completely different mounting systems.

Saw ur posts on 944online and pelican...

Go ahead and pick up an 87 valance, it's same kind I have right now. Just finished first primer coat. $25 is a steal if it's good shape!!!

The non 83 valance is actually much sturdier on the top cross bar, and it just feels stronger/better. You can still mount it up to all the holes except the bottom 4. I will be custom making a plate that connects the bottom to the radiator mounts...

I don't think it will have the correct bracket? Unless it has one that entends the bottom middle piece.

Just get it painted and mounted without connected on the bottom, then figure out some panel.
