Default Project lists - how is yours looking?

Safe to say, when we own cars that are in excess of 20 years old, we best like having projects big and small. It's always so very satisfying when that project list gets very short or complete. I was there, a short mostly cosmetic list. Then Murphy's Law strikes.

Project list (until very recently)

1) Recover the steering wheel
2) Install LED light kit in the instrument cluster
3) Replace the odometer gear
4) Replace the cargo area carpet - DONE along with new Lloyds floormats
5) Replace seat pads and recover the driver's seat
6) Adjust the hatch pins - Attempted but still not right, maybe some day I'll get them adjusted right. Grr...
7) Replace timing belt etc. (It's that time again.)

Project list (as of this morning)

1) Replace passenger door handle
2) Replace passenger door lock rod - DONE
3) Replace passenger door card - Hmm, maybe replace both with 968 cards
4) Replace driver's door lock rod - DONE
5) Investigate driver's window support issue and repair - ARGH, can't get all three rollers back in their tracks!
6) Investigate and repair stereo no power issue
7) Investigate low voltage issue (hope I just need a new battery)
8) Investigate weird sunroof closing issue - DONE, appears to be an issue with the new seals
Plus all the things above!

Darn car needs to be nice to me, she just got a great new paint job.

So, how did your project list change today?

I have a list like that but I haven't even looked at it in a while, because its behind 2 other lists; or is it three? I was supposed to get caught up on all this stuff when I retired but its just not been working out that way.
I have a two year old grandson that is fascinated by my riding mower. He drags me out to the shop three times a day to sit on it and look under the hood. We're learning mower parts now ..."battariii" Fun stuff....Bruce

And what is up with this heat wave, geeez - my truck said 107 today.

I am currently knee deep IN the project...

Done so far:
LED dash light upgrade
Sway bar upgrades
koni struts/shocks
200 lb. lowering springs
dropped rear with eccentrics
new control arms
bushings
ball joints
front brake lines
front engine seals
oil cooler seals
tires
throttle cam
scraped about 20 lbs of oily grime caked to the bottom of the engine and body that had accumulated over the last decade.

To do:
water pump
thermostat
timing belts
coolant flush
oil change
non operative window

DRIVE IT!!!

What I've done:

Replaced sunroof gears (twice )
Removed the grotesque front bra
Removed the ugly seat covers
Clened out all the leaves/dead animals between the radiator and the bumper
Replaced the wind deflector/hinges
Fixed a few rust spots in the battery box
Changed the orings/red cap on the injectors
Replaced the intake manifold gaskets
Vacuumed out all the change, dead animals, and other goodies the previous owners left me
Replaced the drivers side window switch holder
Replaced the sound absorbing foam under the shifter
Replaced the rubber boot under the shift boot
Replaced the vacuum lines
Cleaned the AFM/bent the wiper arm so it's not in those grooves anymore
Cleaned out the intake manifold/throttle body
Replaced the air filter
Replaced the battery
Replaced the spark plugs, cap, rotor, and wires
Fixed the headlights (in the closed position they weren't flush with the nose panel)
Cleaned up the engine bay a bit
Installed Russell Berry's MaxHpKit "R" chip
Installed a throttle cam

What's left:
Replace the fuel lines
Replace the clutch
Replace the transmission
Replace the torque tube bearings
replace the fuel filter/in tank screen
Change the timing belt/water pump/rollers
Replace the brake fluid
Replace the power steering fluid (any recommendations?)
Change the oil/filter
Recharge the A/C
Fix the cruise control (I might just remove it)
Replace the plastic clips that make my car blow hot air
Replace the plastic piece between the windshield and engine bay
Replace my left tail light lens
Replace the coolant (any recommendations?)
Find and fix a mystery leak
Freshen up the entire suspension
Change the tires
Replace the o2 sensor
Change the brake pads/rotors/parking brake shoes
Replace or remove the catalitic converter
Remove and replace the huge ricey muffler one of the PO's put on
Get the radio working so I can Install a new head unit and 10 speaker sound system
Glue down the carpet in the drivers side foot well just before the door
Install the Turbo front end
Install the Euro rear bumper
And last, but not least, paint it!

I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember it

Edit I forgot to add that I want to find a decent dash cap that's plastic or leather (those carpet ones are UGLY!), fix a tear in the drivers seat, and get some sexy floor mats. Does anyone have any dash cap recommendations?

Rebuild engine.
Replace front swaybar bushes.
Re-pack..... everything with grease.

That's really it.
Unfortunately, that first task is a killer.

5. Fuel Pressure Regulator
6. Rebuild Power Steering Pump
7. Rebuilt Power Steering Rack
8. DME Temp Sensor

2012 Projects
1. AFM
2. TPS
3. Coil
4. J Boot
5. Thermofan Switch
6. Rebuild Throttle Body
7. Distributor Cap / Rotor / Plug Wires
8. Hatch Struts

It is nice to finally have the engine sorted and working correctly and be able to devote some time to making some cosmetic enhancements.

Seems like these cars like being worked on. Once you start, more and more seems to be needed. The other thing is when they aren't driven very much, things start to break and need replacing also.

I am at my wits end on getting my driver's side window fixed. I have spent hours trying to get the darn rollers back into their tracks. For whatever reason, I will get two in their tracks but can't get the third. Anyone have a good trick to get all three in their tracks?

Sort out the power locks
