Default Balance shaft delete views

Hi, we are building a 944s based motor purely for racing, zero street use. Mods include lightened and knifed crank, carrillo rods, JE pistons, some head work etc. We are likely to do a balance shaft delete, probably using the Lindsey racing kit. I gather the general view is for a pure race engine it probably makes sense to do so. Any views ?

If everything on the bottom end is balanced to eachother (and lighter than stock), then you could probably be OK as long as you put a reinforcing brace on the oil pickup tube.

An engine with no balance shafts shakes all kinds of things lose. If you want to make a *reliable* race engine, leave the balance shafts in. If you plan on doing a complete teardown every season, and really want to extract every ounce of power, do the delete.
