Oh crap! I lost my key!

Go to your local Porsche dealership with your registration and have a new oem key cut based on your VIN. If you don't have a local Porsche dealership, I recommend Sunset Porsche in Oregon (fax registration.)

OP didn't say locked them in the car. OP said lost them.
You can lock the keys in the car by using the key to lock the drivers side but dropping the keys in the passenger side and pushing the lock button down and shutting the door. This is how my mechanic locks my keys in the car if I can't be there by 5:00 to pick up the car, but he puts them under the floor mat.

Do you think this would really work for a twenty five to thirty year old car? I would be amazed if it did.

Porsche dealers will order a cut key from porsche with the vin and proof of ownership. The only issue with that is you have no idea if you even have the original key. Mine has been rekeyed two times, once by the po and once by me. It's a gamble.

Im well aware what he said. usually people have the foresight to know that losing keys is a possibility and have a spare made. It was more a comment on the thought process of never needing a spare

It does work, I know people who have done it.
I've locked the key in the car once. I was picking up something heavy out of the hatch and I put the key down (in the hatch, car was locked and I didnt realize it) Once I closed it, I was kicking myself.
