Picked up a '91 S2. Prepping it for V8 conversion. Parting out engine bay.

The cylinders look ok to me. I wouldn't be surprised if you put it back together and get nearly perfect compression.

Perfect compression on a 208hp engine is a far cry from a big v8 though. A v8 swap is a big undertaking, decide what you really want and go for it.

How did you get the cylinder head off with the headers still in place?

I extracted the studs out.

Is that easier than taking out the exhaust? I've never tried it that way.... <rubs chin>

My vote, cylinder walls look good.

It was much easier in this case. The exhaust bolt and nuts were rusted and completed bonded. The studs came out with no issues.
