Default Picked up a '91 S2. Prepping it for V8 conversion. Parting out engine bay.

I picked up a '91 S2 with chain tensioner pad failure. The previous owner had no idea how to fix it or take it apart to check the damage so he was undoing every bolt he sees in the engine bay (what a mess).
The head looks in good shape but the cams, tensioner, chain and valve cover are missing (thrown away by the previous owner). Not sure about the valves though. I will check them next week.

Unfortunately, the car was not well maintained but it was running before the failure and it appears that everything else is working on it. It has good options that is why I decided to get it.

At the beginning I thought I can replace the head and make this motor run but that was not case. After I took the head off I found that some cylinder walls are scored. What is left of the head looks in good shape, no bent valves have been found yet. I will be parting the engine bay in order to clean it up for a V8 conversion. I will be keeping this thread updated for the V8 conversion.

Thanks!

Pic of the car and engine bay:

I need just a bare head, broken or not, to do some mockup work. As long as the intake and exhaust mounting surfaces and holes are in decent shape I can use it. If you end up with just a bare head that you don't need, let me know.

It beats me! Lots of nonsense with the previous owner but I am glad I got the car to save it!

Where did you find that? been looking all over for a roller! Lol.

What is the name of that color? I see the code, was wondering about the name. Is the car in your avatar Crystal Green Metallic?

It's entirely obvious. To save weight! Plus it gives extra cooling with more air in there.

Take Care!

How much are you looking to pay? For the right price I can make my 1989 S2 a roller.
